Car Exterior Detailing
Oil-field dust in the north Brea hills and Carbon Canyon is oily rather than dry, so it needs the right chemistry, not more water. A proper hand wash lifts it off the finish.
About 42 minutes from our Monrovia shop on the 210 and 57, with no travel fee.
Brea is the only city we cover that we reach heading east rather than west — up the 210 and down the 57. It's also the least dense, at about 3,900 people per square mile, with roughly six in ten households owning and a lot of newer HOA tract housing out at Olinda Ranch. The thing that makes Brea different is underneath it: the Brea-Olinda Oil Field runs about six miles along the Whittier Fault, tar seeps to the surface, and the field is still worked today.

Nothing needed from your home
Everything we need travels with the van. Here’s what a job in your area looks like.
Inside Brea we cover Brea Boulevard, Imperial Highway, Lambert Road, State College Boulevard, Birch Street, Carbon Canyon Road, Kraemer Boulevard, Associated Road, Downtown Brea, Olinda Ranch, Brea Mall, Brea Civic and Cultural Center, Arovista Park, Country Hills Park, Tamarack Park, Founders Park, Wildcatters Park, Olinda Oil Museum and Tracks at Brea.

The Brea-Olinda Oil Field is still in production, and the north Brea hills, the Olinda area and Carbon Canyon carry an oily, tarry airborne dust and unpaved lease-road grit that no other city on our list has. It doesn't rinse off — plain water goes straight over it. City water is hard: about 13.5 grains per gallon on the San Gabriel basin groundwater and 16 on the imported supply. Brea gets only about 14 inches of rain a year and the summers are dry, so nothing on the paint gets washed off naturally. Carbon Canyon is a wildland-urban interface corridor with Santa Ana wind exposure.
Brea's water rule is permanent — a bucket or a hand-held hose with a self-closing nozzle, with no more than incidental runoff onto the street or gutter — and the city's own stormwater guidance says mobile washing operations should be containing their wash water rather than letting it run into a catch basin. Most Brea homes have a driveway, which is where we work. We bring our own water and power.
Either way the fix is the same. We bring the wash to the car.

At 13.5 to 16 grains per gallon and almost no summer rain, anything that dries on the paint here stays and spots. We remove the deposits and the 57 corridor's summer bug load.
Tarry fallout bonds into the clear coat rather than sitting on it, which is why Brea cars often feel rough after a wash. Claying is what actually takes it out.

Both ZIPs, 92821 and 92823 — Downtown Brea and Birch Street, Brea Boulevard, Imperial Highway, Lambert, State College, Kraemer and Associated, plus Olinda Ranch and the Carbon Canyon side. About 27 miles from our shop, with no travel fee.
Monday through Sunday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Brea is the one place we reach going east — the 210 to the 57 — about 42 minutes off-peak.
Almost certainly oil-field fallout. The Brea-Olinda field is still worked and the dust carries a tarry component that bonds to the clear coat. Water and soap slide over it; it needs the right chemistry and usually claying.
Yes. We need a reasonably level spot and about one car length of clearance around the car. Lease-road and canyon dust is the main reason people up there book, so it's normal work for us.
Tell us where the car is and what it needs. We’ll confirm within the hour during business hours.
