What Hollywood does to a car
Jacarandas are thick on Vine Street and Hollywood Boulevard, and the flowers and honeydew under them both mark paint. Indian laurel figs run along Western, Vermont and Hollywood Boulevard, dropping berries and sooty mold. Up in the Outpost Estates, carobs on Outpost Drive, La Presa and Castilian drop sticky pods, and the Mexican fan palms on the flats shed fruit and draw roosting birds. The Sunset Fire in January 2025 burned 43 acres off Solar Drive and put ash over the flats for days. LADWP water here averages about 8.6 grains per gallon.
In 90028 and 90038 fewer than one household in ten owns, and a Hollywood apartment garage rarely has a hose bib or an outlet near the car. On the canyon streets there is often nowhere to wash at all. LA's rule is the same either way: a self-closing nozzle, and no water running into the gutter. We bring our own water and power, so we can work in a garage, a driveway or a legal curb spot.

Usually yes — Beachwood, Outpost and Canyon Drive are all normal for us. We need about one car length of clearance around the car and somewhere legal to put the van for the session. If the street is too tight, a driveway or a flatter spot a block away works.
Fresh drip usually comes off in a hand wash. Baked on for a few days, we clay bar and polish the spot, which adds time. Book soon after the drop and it comes out cleaner.
